The Elizabethtown Independent Schools will ensure that we motivate and challenge STUDENTS, empowering them to be lifelong learners prepared to succeed in a challenging, diverse society.  We will ensure PARENTS are active partners, equipped to participate in the learning process of each student.  We will be a SCHOOL DISTRICT that is willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of each student and ensure each child's educational and personal success.  And, we will be a COMMUNITY that is an active partner in securing resources and tools that will assist each child in discovering his or her greatest potential.

 

 

NOTICE OF VACANT ELIZABETHTOWN BOARD OF EDUCATION SEAT

 

The Elizabethtown Board of Education (“Board”) is seeking applications for appointment to fill a vacancy on the Board representing the District at large. This appointment will be effective until the end of the term on December 31, 2024.

Responsibilities include: setting policy to govern the District; hiring/evaluating the Superintendent; and levying taxes and adopting the District budget. Board members must:

·         Be at least 24 years old and a Kentucky citizen for the last three years;

·         Be a registered voter in the particular District of the vacancy;

·         Have completed the 12th grade or have a GED certificate;

·         Meet all other legal qualifications (KRS 160.180); and

·         Complete required annual in-service training.
