In his first year at Elizabethtown High School, J.T. Lyon is already making a lasting impression—not just in the classroom and on the football field, but in the community as well. After going through six rounds of blood tests, Lyon made the trip to Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Tuesday morning to donate his bone marrow.
The ceremony marked a milestone for the Elizabethtown Independent Schools district. Originally opened in 1954, the school is named after former Superintendent Talton K. Stone, who served from 1953 to 1971.
This will be the third major renovation to the school's classroom spaces, following previous upgrades in 1993 and 2003.
Elizabethtown Independent Schools announced Thursday that Megan Goodman was the winner of the 2024-2025 ExCEL Award (Excellence in Classroom and Educational Leadership). The sponsors of the award are WHAS11-TV and Miracle Playgrounds of KY & IN.
Morningside Elementary School third-grade students decided to warm the hearts of those in need this Valentine’s Day. Three third-grade classes dedicated part of their holiday party on Feb. 14 to making tie blankets, which were to be distributed throughout the Elizabethtown community as well as Grant County.
